There are several things you can do to help 911 dispatchers and emergency responders:
Know your 911 address, and directions (in miles) on how to get there from the nearest town.
Answer all the questions the dispatcher has for you, and do not hang up until they tell you it is ok.
Post your address so responders can see it: In town, place numbers on the front of your house. Rural Residences, post your house number (and street address if there is room) by your driveway off the main road.
If your address is hard to find and someone is available, send them to the main road to lead responders directly to the emergency location. Don’t forget to tell the dispatcher you are doing this.
