Robert (Bob) Flath was born in Garrison, ND and raised on a farm near Garrison. Upon graduating from Garrison High in 1987, Bob attended NDSU Bottineau where he received an Associate of Science degree in Wildlife Management. After this, he attended NDSU in Fargo where he worked and went to school part-time. Upon completion, Bob received a Bachelors degree in Zoology. Moving back to Garrison was the next endeavor and working seasonally for the Coal Creek power plant as a Water Lab Technician for one year, then working seasonally for the Falkirk Mining Company for about five years as an Environmental Technician. Bob also helped out on the family farm during this time and spent one year as the city forester for Garrison and Fort Stevenson State Park. After all of this and a short time with Wild Things Gallery in Bismarck as a frame builder the job of Watershed Coordinator for the LaMoure County SCD came to his attention and the has been at this job since April of 1997. Bob has also been the President of the James River Sportsman's Club in LaMoure for approximately five years. He is a single parent with a four-year old daughter, Leah Anne Flath.
Commissioner Flath is very interested in seeing the County
prosper and is adament about making good, sound and well educated decisions for
the County's residents. Mr. Flath is down to earth and relies heavily on
good old common sense when making decisions. LaMoure County is very
fortunate to have the resources it has and Mr. Flath says he will make the best
decisions he can for the County. Bob is always open to discussion and
would like to hear from residents of the County about any concerns they may
have.
