Summary of Nursing Services

Nurses are available to see clients for the following services during regular office hours (no appointment necessary unless indicated).


Health Assessments Including

Lipid profile (cholesterol)

Foot-care clinics

Immunizations

Child Wellness screenings (Not Sports Physicals)

Medication monitoring and setup

Skilled nursing services (i.e. dressing changes, suture removal, catheter care, etc)

Lice Checks

Blood Pressure

Blood Sugar Testing

Hemoglobin Testing

Vital Sign Monitoring

Height and Weight

Ear checks (infection, wax)

Ear Irrigations

School Nursing

COVID travel testing- (Call First)

Tobacco Cessation referrals

Homes:

Home visits are scheduled by appointment by calling the nurse. Each clients situation is unique.  All ages are eligible for home visitations, newborn to elderly. Clients may receive home visitations by an RN for the following services:

Blood Pressure, Pulse, Respiration monitoring

Blood Sugar Testing

Medication Set Up and Monitoring

Foot Care

Weight Monitoring

Other Nursing Services by Doctor Orders

Referrals can be made by:

  • Clients themselves or Family Members
  • Physicians, Nurses, Other Health Care Providers
  • Schools, Social Workers, Other Agencies, or Concerned Citizens

Special Programs:

1.  Newborn Follow-Up

Offers by phone and/or home visitation health information and counseling to mothers regarding normal and/or abnormal happenings postpartum and for the newborn.

2.  Injury Prevention Programs

LCPHD promotes bicycle safety and child passenger safety program (car seats available for qualified families).
