Motorcycle Riders: Wear All the Gear, All the Time

Motorcycle safety is for everyone on the road. Riding a motorcycle is thrilling, but there can be potential dangers that go along with it. In 2022 in North Dakota, 67% of motorcycle fatalities were not wearing a helmet. Vision Zero wants to remind you and your loved ones to Wear All The Gear, All The Time.

Motorcycle crashes often cause brain injuries, broken bones, damage to internal organs, and deep cuts and lacerations that can lead to deadly infections. Wear All The Gear, All The Time... That means a well-fitting and DOT-compliant helmet, face protection, full riding suit (one piece or pants and jacket), boots, gloves, rain gear, and hearing protection.

In the past 5 years, speed has been a contributing factor in 31.5% of motorcycle fatalities in North Dakota. (VisionZeroND)

Motorcycle safety is for everyone on the road. To reach Vision Zero’s goal of zero fatalities and serious injuries on North Dakota roads, it is important for motorists and motorcyclists to do their part.
